Terroir : Steep south exposed slopes of limestone and clay along the Drome river. The southern most northern Rhone appellation. Only 20 ha shared by 5 owners. A rare and unique terroir

Winemaking : No destemming, slight crushing. 10-12 days of skin contact fermentation. Elevage for 6 months on fine lees, in large oak vats, followed by 12 months in 500 l casks. No filtration, no fining.

Tasting : From a View from the Cellar – John Gillman
The Brézème offers up a classy nose of cassis, black raspberries, freshground
pepper, woodsmoke, herbs and hot stones.
On the palate the wine is medium-full, low fat and intensely flavored, with lovely succulence, fine focus, very modest tannins and fine length and grip on the tangy and pure finish.

ERIC TEXIER - The winemaker of Brezeme Red Magnum
Besides Brezeme Red see all ERIC TEXIER wines.

“I became a vigneron, in the almost forgotten vineyard area of Brézème (Northern Rhone). My goals and methodology were born through reading, visits to traditional winemakers and sustainable farms around the world. My winemaking is very old school and very minimalist and my main concern as a vigneron is the soil.” - Eric Texier.

Eric Texier is based in Brézème, north of the Rhone Valley. Eric first worked in nuclear technology before devoting himself entirely to the world of wine in the early 1990s. He practices viticulture and enology in a minimalistic way, with particular emphasis on the management of the soil of his vineyards. He also is a member of "raw wine" world. https://www.rawwine.com
