Dieser Wein wird im weltberühmten Douro-Tal in Portugal hergestellt. Er stammt aus einem einzigen Weinberg namens Jugal Velho, der nach Südosten ausgerichtet ist und auf einer durchschnittlichen Höhe von 380 m liegt. Es handelt sich um einen 35 Jahre alten Weinberg, der nach traditioneller Art und Weise mit Dutzenden von gemischten Rebsorten bepflanzt ist.
Die Vergärung ist 100% natürlich, ohne jegliche chemische Zusätze, nicht einmal Sulfite. Es ist ein Wein, der nur aus Trauben hergestellt wird. Die Gärung erfolgt durch wilde Hefen und die Reifung in Edelstahltanks für 12 Monate und weitere 12 Monate in der Flasche.
Er wurde keiner Art von Filtration unterzogen, um die ursprünglichen Elemente des Weins zu bewahren.
Er hat eine dunkle rubinrote Farbe und sein Geschmack hat Noten von dunklen Beeren, Kakao, Gewürzen und Marmelade. Im Mund zeigt er eine für Naturweine typische Einfachheit mit einem langen Abgang.
